Recently, some 1st Nor Cal members have notified us that they received a fraudulent phone call from phone number 925-228-7784 pretending to be 1st Nor Cal Credit Union. The phone call stated that they were offering AC units and loans at discounted prices and proceeded to ask for member information. The members recognized that the phone call was a fraud and hung up. Other recently reported fraudulent phone calls include members being contacted by a prefix 877 number where the caller fraudulently identified themselves as a credit union employee calling from our Rhode Island office. The caller requested the member’s email address so that important DocuSign documents could be emailed over. Our member became suspicious and hung up after recognizing that 1st Nor Cal does not have out of state locations.
Please be aware that telephone scams and identity theft can take many forms and do not give out any personal information, including your pin code, to incoming phone calls you might receive. Member security is a top priority at 1st Northern California Credit Union, and we ask that you notify us if you receive a similar phone call or notice any type of fraudulent activity involving your account(s) with 1st Nor Cal Credit Union.
